RSPH Level 2 Award in Healthier Food and Special Diets

The Level 2 Award in Healthier Food and Special Diets, an accredited nutrition qualification, was introduced in light of heightened public interest in this area. Consumers have become increasingly aware of the effects of a poor diet and businesses are keen to understand the links between diet and health to meet changing customer demands

Outline programme:

• Nutrients and energy
• The balance of good health
• The relationship between diet and health
• The nutritional requirements of different groups
• Current policy, legislation and voluntary guidelines
• The effects of food processing on nutrient content
• Nutrition labelling

Duration:

One day or two half day/evenings

Assessment method:

Multiple choice examination

Cost:

£40 per person including course book, exam fee and certificate

RSPH Level 1 Award in Healthier Food and Special Diets is also available (delivered over a half day or evening) for those requiring just the basic principles of nutrition which underpin the production of healthy food and preparation of special diets
